If your route to a Lithuanian licence includes exams, the theory test at Regitra is the first hurdle. It is very manageable once you know the format — here is what to expect.
How many questions?
For the most common category (B, for cars), the exam has 30 questions. Higher categories such as A, C and D involve 35 questions. If you want to add the A1 category on the same visit, around five extra questions are added — you can tell the Regitra staff at registration.
Which languages can I take it in?
The computerised test can be taken in Lithuanian, English, Polish, Spanish, French or Ukrainian, which makes it accessible to most newcomers.
What score do I need?
You must answer at least 80% correctly, with roughly one minute per question. Your result is shown immediately, and a pass stays valid until you take the practical exam — but no longer than one year.
Booking and cost
You can register online through Regitra’s system (or by phone or at a branch), where you can also reschedule or cancel. The theory exam fee is €10.
How to prepare
- Work through official-style practice questions until you consistently score above 90%.
- Focus on road-sign meanings, priority/right-of-way rules, and speed limits — common trip-ups.
- Take the test in the language you read most fluently; a translation slip can cost you marks.
